wow twins are a beautiful thing!! i had twins and when i got my first ultrasound... same thing... however i ended up having two healthy babies! a heartbeat is a great sign, even though it is a little weaker. with twins there is always a slight chance that one won't make it through, but a heartbeat is a good sign. i wish you the best and congrats!!!

I went through something similar a year ago. And unfortunately it's one of those things that you can't really do anything about and you have to wait and see what happens. I've also had a couple friends with this problem. One of my friends was pregnant with triplets, lost two and gave birth to one healthy, happy baby girl. One of my other friend was pregnant with twins lost one and is still 5 months pregnant with the other baby =) I wasn't so lucky I lost one twin at about 9 weeks and the second twin at a little over 13 weeks. Try and not stress out about it even though it's hard not to and think positive! And if the unfortunate happens and you loose one don't give up hope on the second, even if the doctors say you hormone levels stopped. Good luck!!! And congrats on the pregnancy!!!!

Although I am not quite sure how to answer this,I do know where you are coming from. My eldest son(now 9)apparently was a twin something to do with the placenta? I apparently absorbed his twin into my system and went through the pregnancy with out knowing. When I did deliver him something to do or be seen with the placenta can determine that 100%. All I know to say is STAY INFORMED don't let them leave you in the dark and when in doubt ask ask ask ASK. If they are too busy for you then find someone who will listen to your concerns. If you can give us all a follow up on what happened.

I've had what you are talking about happen to me. Sometimes the weak heartbeat is not strong enough, so it may vanish. All I can say is to talk to your doctor and keep informed of the progress of your babies.

Well my mother-in-law was pregnant with twins and everything was going fine until she said that when they done an ultrasound on her that the technician press real hard down on her stomach and when she got home she started bleeding and she miscarried one but not the other.
I hope nothing happens to you like this. Keep in touch with your doctor and go to the er if you have too.

There is a chance it could go away, but any heart beat is a great sign.
