Florida is better...They proved that on the field...Last time I checked Florida had a big break too!
Did you see what happened out there?...41-14 Florida
When Custer was slaughtered at Little Big Horn, nobody was saying he lost because he hadn't fought anybody in a month...Nobody was trying give reasons why Custer actually won despite what happened on the field at LBHorn...Nobody was saying the Indians had an unfair advantage because they didn't have as long a layoff.
None of that mattered!
OSU got beat just as bad...Custer got slaughtered and so did OSU...Custer got slaughtered by a better team and so did OSU...Custer didn't somehow win despite what happened on the field and neither did OSU!
OSU got SLAUGHTERED ...SLAUGHTERED...ANILATED
DESTROYED...KILLED...WIPED OUT
NUKED...BOMBED...INCINERATED...SCALPED...MASACARED!
Custer didn't rise from the dead and neither did the 2006/07 Buckeyes!
One thing Custer didn't do is jump on his best guy and hurt him...Now that was just to funny!...If you put that into a movie, nobody would believe it!...We hurt our own guy!...WE INJURED OUR OWN BEST GUY...HOW STUPID IS THAT?
I like OSU but its time to put this thing to rest...WE LOST!!!
FLORIDA 41 OSU 14...TIME TO GET OVER IT AND MOVE ON!

The only break Ohio State got was their soft non-conference schedule and a weak field in the Big 10. The SEC teams played much better competition during the year; OSU's perfect regular season was as much attributable to pushover teams as it was to their own talent.
If OSU had played 2-3 more teams in the SEC or PAC-10 this year instead of the Spartans, they probably would be a one-loss team and no one would have been crowning them before the game. In fact, if they had, they'd probably have played Cal in the Rose Bowl while USC went on to face Florida in the BCS championship :)

Ohio State got destroyed by a much better team from a much tougher conference. The beatdown was overwhelming and make it very clear to everyone watching the Big 10 schedule OSU played was very weak while the SEC schedule Florida played was very strong. If they played two more times, I think Florida would probably beat OSU two more times.

No way, no how. Now, I do admit that it might not be fair for ANY of the bowling teams to have to wait a month to play, but I do not think it had anything to do with OSU's extra days off in particular. OSU was over ranked to begin with, but that didn't become apparent they played a tough team, like Florida from the SEC.

No, I don't. Ohio State just flat out didn't play and Florida played better than they ever have before. The better team won.

Reality check. It wasn't even close. The Gators whomped the Buckeyes. There is no doubt. Troy Smith, Heisman Trophy winner, was a complete non-factor. Ohio State was outplayed and outcoached. All you can do is take comfort in the fact that your school was in it and everybody's else's was not.

I think that the layoff was huge but they just plain got spanked. troy smith is probably the biggest choke artist ever. And why would you not continue running the ball after a 25 yard run? The rushing yards are misleading because of Troy's sacks and the score. they really didnt stop pittman, he just wasnt able to get enough carries.

No, I'm a Buckeye fan and have to admit, they got the tar beat out of them by a better prepared team.
If the win/loss record were all that mattered, Boise State has a good argument for being number one.

Not at all. The better team went home with the trophy. Even your Heisman winner, who wasn't much of a Heisman winner during that game, said during the post-game press conference, that the amount of time off didn't play a factor.
