i know these words may not help, but remember that what is going to be will be. If it is meant that your mom loses the baby then it will hsappen and if it is meant just to be a scare, then she will come home still pregnant. i am 23 weeks and i tell myself every morning what will be will be.

If your mother said for you to call your sisters or brothers do that. Your mother needs to know you are with someone she can trust and that you're not alone.
At 22 weeks if she goes into labor it isn't good. There's a chance, though, that she may not go into labor or that the doctor could stop labor that may have started.
Nobody can tell you how long any labor would take at 22 weeks, and right now don't assume there will necessarily be any labor at all. Maybe I shouldn't say this to you, but you may want to realize that if something happened to the baby already it would have happened a couple of weeks ago most likely; and if something did happen to the baby a couple of weeks ago there is nothing that can be done about it.
Someone I know lost two 18 week fetuses separately not too long ago, and seeing her babies was very difficult for her. I'm not sure anyone would let you see the baby if it doesn't make it (or if it already didn't make it).
Call your sisters/brothers, and stay with them. Your mother will call when she knows what is going on; and maybe then you can go to the hospital and see your mother. Again, she may not lose the baby.
It is understandable that you're scared, but for now just say some prayers and hope things will be ok. If, by any chance, something were to happen to the baby you will just have to believe that "things happen for a reason" and do your best to be supportive of your mother.

Hi there sweety I hope this helps it was information I foudn over the net
Who is at risk?
In recent times doctors have been able to dramatically improve the survival hopes for babies born as early as 22-23 weeks. However, these infants face a huge battle at the start of life, with a risk of many significant long-term problems. And we still don't know in many cases why labour starts early or how to stop it.
Premature labour can develop in any woman but especially very young, single or unsupported mothers, and those who are underweight or smoke.
What causes it?
Causes of premature labuor
Unknown (about 40 per cent).
Infection.
Ante-natal haemorrhage.
Pre-eclampsia ( see www.apec.org.uk).
Illness in the mother, such as diabetes, high blood pressure or heart disease.
Foetal abnormalities or death.
Multiple pregnancies.
Cervical incompetence.
It's often difficult to pin down exactly why a woman goes in to premature labour but there are some triggers that may be avoided. For example, there's growing evidence that stress, particularly when sudden or severe, can induce labour.
Infection is another potential trigger. Vaginal infections such as gonorrhoea, chlamydia, trichomonas and group B streptococci have all been linked to preterm labour.
A condition called bacterial vaginosis, which changes the acidity of the vagina, is also associated with preterm labour, possibly because it reduces the body's natural defences against infection.
It may therefore, be possible to reduce the risk by screening for and treating these infections with antibiotics. But this must be done before premature labour starts. Once labour begins it's too late

There is really no way to tell why she has to go to the hospital. Hopefully it is not anything serious. How old are you and how old are your brothers and sisters? If you are old enough to go to the hospital and your brothers and sisters can stay with someone then I don't see why you can't go. If you are young, like under 18, I would stay put and wait for her to call you. I am sure that she or who ever she is with, will contact relatives to let them know what is going on. Just hang tight and try not to worry. You really don't know why she went, so nothing will be gained by speculating
I wish you luck.

Hun dont get scared. It might not be prematue labor. It could be many things. I am 26 weeks pregnant and I had to spend the night at the hospital for pains. And labor can take up to 16 17 hours! Dont worry about it. She might just be having Braxton-hicks contractions, which are just sample contractions, they are not anything serious. Your Mom will be just fine. It is rare that women that already have children go into premature labor. She should be just fine

It's best that you stay home, and be patient. I'm sure your Mom will call you and let you know if you need to come down to the hospital. At 22 weeks they will do whatever they can to keep the baby inside, but if they have to deliver her, then there is a very high mortality rate... never give up hope!! Think positive!!

I went into labor early as well and trust me, there are so many more chances for that baby to stay in, they have so many meds. they can give her to keep that baby in, at least until 24 weeks where the baby can survive outside of your mom. I stayed in labor for 3 weeks and my son was born premature but survived. Good luck, I would stay put and wait for a call, it's hard I know, but it's going to be chaotic enough for your mom right now.

Viability ( the ability to live) outside of the mother's womb is about 26 weeks. If your mother is in premature labor, the doctor may prescribe something like magnesium sulfate to stop her contractions. I'm sure that the doctors will do everything in their power to prevent her being born early. There are a lot of complications that go with a baby being born early, and not to scare you but there is a very slim to none chance a baby can live when born that early. But, like I said, the doctors will be doing everything they can to stop it

The doctors will run several tests on her and the baby to see what's going on. if all is well, she may only be there for a couple to a few hours. but if she is in labor, they will try to stop it, if they cant, the baby will be born premature and there are very good doctors out there with excellent medical care, so i would not worry too much...pray first...he will listen...everything will be fine.

Gee hon how old are you? Are you with family? The doctors will do the best they can but sometimes its not enough. Relax! help with the younger kids and Mom will call as soon as she can. The Emergency room always takes forever as they are very careful there to check everything so be patient. I think you should wait until your Mom calls before going to hospital unless an adult takes you there.
