I have to say that the greatest show I've ever seen was Dave Matthews at The Meadows in Hartford, CT in 1998 (now the Ford Theater I believe). Although I currently see DM as sell outs, they - at that time - put on an awesome show.

For me, a music concert is more than the music, it has a lot to do with the showmanship and the presentation. I do love to see my favorite artists in concert, and have amassed many ticket stubs throughout my high school and college years (just saw Elton John . . . . I know, I'm getting old)!

Kid rock puts on a good show. But the best that I have ever seen would have to be The Who or Dubconscious. Never got to see the grateful dead but if i had I am sure they would have been the best!

Prince's band New Power Generation for a tight, together sound. As for just jamming together, there was an unplugged sort of show once that I caught, with Eric Clapton, Elvis
Costello, Bruce Springsteen, and a few others that blew me away. They played their hearts out in that performance. Loved it!

Motley Crue-by far. And I've been to quite a few concerts. I saw them 4 times on the last tour. Just as good as they were in the 80's. A little different, but there was so much going on everywhere, you couldn't take it all in in one show!

The Nightcrawlers in the 1960s in Minnesota.

ABC's Bill Redeker was one of the band members.
