I wonder about the same thing myself, I've ask some very serious questions too, and the results have been some do it just to be silly, some do it for the points without even thinking what the damage it may cause to the person's mental health, and some people just don't care at all, but feel that their answers are valid, and the rest....... who knows what the hell they're thinking, when have no business trying to answer questions without some kind of insight.

People believe they do understand the questions. But, they don't take the time to read them carefully. And some folks think they have a lot more knowledge than they really do.
The ones who jump in with a quick, snappy answer, just to be first, are usually the worst - no thinking.

I think some people have to answer just for the sake of it. maybe they see themselves as comedians. I know all my answers are very serious, unless someone is being silly.
