unplug it for a couple of minutes and then when you plug it back in wait a couple more before switching it on...this re-sets the box and seems to cure most problems..if that fails ring sky

Most televisions self tune to channels and sometimes they do not recognise new equipment installed - how have you connected your sky box - if you are connected using the household aerial got rid of it and use a scart lead - make sure this is plugged in correctly and that all your cables in the back of the box are connected to and go through all your tv channels to find out if you have a channel dedicated to the sky box - alternatively manually tune your tv to the sky box failing that you may have to call out the engineer but this could cost you if it turns out not to be the box at fault. I had the same problem and the advice I have given is what I did and I had no problems since.
Best of Luck

Make sure the scart cable is pushed in properly, it may be pushed in correctly at one side but not the other.
