Well, keep calling and eventually he will see your number on the caller id and know that you are trying. Believe me kids are a lot smarter than we give them credit for. He is probably aware of what his mother is doing. But you keep on trying.

If your ex is following the child visitation rules spelled out in your divorce decree exactly then unfortunately its not illegal for what she is doing. There probably is nothing that forces her to let you talk to your son everyday if she feels it is effecting your son negatively. If she did let you do this then its out of the goodness of her heart, not by law. She definitely doesnt realize the damage she is actually doing to your son by doing this but she is residential parent and has final say. So sorry, but theres not much you can do. You can challenge her in court but since this doesnt constitute child abuse/endangerment, nothing will probably come out of it. So you just may have to wait her to get thru this phase and hopefully she will change her mind. Good luck

Unless you have issues you're not discussing, she's a control freak and is using your son to hurt you. But, she is also hurting your son. Sounds like you need some legal involvement.

She needs to grow up and quit being so self-centered.

she still has some anger issues and she is punishing u for whatever she feels u did to her. maybe try to make peace with her it would make it alot easier. it is never good to put a child in the middle but it happens quite often.
