The Hood by Dead Prez..it speaks of the problems facing the black community and actually(unlike most hiphop)gives solutions to the problems. It touches me on a different level, not too many people know about the song, let alone the group DeadPrez..i dont care if youre not a fan of hip hop, this song tells a story and its filled with compassion, courage, self determination, love, and hate...i made my mother listen to it and explained to her what the lyrics were about...she admitted it was a good song, but not for her..it does have swearing...btw i find it so strange that people stay criticizing rap for the swearing but will sit and watch a movie with the same swearing if not more and be highly entertained...oh sorry, thats not the point..anyway..dead prez rbg for life

Hi Michelle:

I am trying to relax front of my computer after completely stressing for 5 days and facing the inevitable challenge of managing media, ie music on a pc....I am 41, disabled, freelance and used to dj, spin, make the best mix cassettes, all in the eighties of course.

I lost my records, tapes and my 90's cds have slowly drifted out for exchange and cash. What is left is not organized and my ear is not tuned at the moment, like in my younger days, with instincts to mix, sample, choose an intuitive playlist for subtle themes. I used to believe it was something came so easily and took for granted.

Anyhow, I am never brief...it is a rough mix, not well themed and completely disconnected and dated ... not recent, not old enough to be desired ...my first webjay mix.

If you bookmark, in the future it may contain interesting songs..follow my 360 blogs for media struggles..on pc.
