Very important. I look at 98% or better and anyone less than a hundred, the specific feedback is reviewed for why. Remember, when you sell thousands of items, not everyone is going to be pleased and thing do slip through the cracks.
I haven't been scammed yet.

VERY important. It is almost the only thing you really have to go by that is reliable. You can look at an auction and for some reason be unsure about it, but the feedback, especially when there are many, will give you a good idea of what kind of seller you are dealing with. This does not mean they can't get a few "friends" to give some fake positive feedback. But they are actually pretty obvious. And they cannot get 100 people to do it.
Personally, I even look at apparent personality. Some sellers end up giving a lot of the same excuses that suggest a negative pattern.
Reading the feedbacks, basically the negative feedbacks, is important. After eBaying awhile you get a sense of what sorts of feedbacks are typical of a bad seller or what feedbacks just happen to people even if they're good sellers. Buyers can be very bad as well.
Although it is true that eBay makes money whether an item is fake or not, it IS in eBay's best interest to promote honestly and a HEALTHY marketplace. Because if nobody trusts the marketplace, they won't use it. This is why most people will also participate in feedback and do it honestly. eBay takes down auctions for fake items all the time. There are in fact plenty of people willing to buy fake products as well.
It is also somewhat common to see sellers who probably had been kicked off with a previous name and info. Criminals do all sorts of unscrupulous things, and you do have to learn to watch out for tell tale signs, like looking out for spam e-mails.

Extremely. It can make or break a deal in many cases. I buy some from Ebay, but a friend buys a lot, and she only deals with certain types of people . I know that I always give Feedback after a deal, and it seems important to them, and if buyers have bad scores on feedback, then they will not be treated seriously, so many do the same with sellers... I know I learned the hard way this helps in two buys

It's pretty important. Generally a good seller will have 97% or better. I read negative feedbacks to see what the problem was. Some ebay users are morons and leave bad feedback when they shouldn't, so there is some slack, but too much bad feedback is definitely something to watch out for.

Very important. If I am going to buy something of any signifigance from you, I go and read your feedback. If you have negative feedback, I don't assume that you are a bad seller; I would go and look at the negative feedback and read what you said and what the buyer said (there could be extenuating circumstances, or you were just dealing with a buyer that was a jerk). I would not buy from anyone who had a rep for not returning emails, not sending merchandise, or (my pet peeve!) someone who sells stuff in an auction, and then tells you "sorry, we're out of stock on that item!", and I would not sell to anyone who had a rep for not sending money, especially if they did not make any contact with the seller.
Hope this helps! Ã

It depends on how much the item is I am buying... Low feedback on an item that is $10 with $2 shipping doesn't bother me at all.
But when I am thinking about bidding $200 or more for something, I want to make sure the seller has positive feedback and has been selling for a while.
Hope this helps...

Feedback is one of the most important aspects of buying and selling on ebay. I never buy off of someone unless the feedback is near 100% I understand that not eveyrone is going to be satisfied, so I take the time and read the negitive comments. I think paying with Paypal is more important though.

Very important....Look for someone who either has lots of feedback. Then check out how often the negatives where and of what nature they are. Or look at someone who has very little feedback at all....like (under 200)....they should have not had any negatives in this time frame, if they do check to see what it was about....make sure its not more that 1 or 2 for approximately 200 feedbacks...
Its up to you to choose what you want to do...

I sell on Ebay and Feedback is very important for a seller. I wouldn't buy from anyone with less then 99% . It's too risky. I also worry about buyers who have problems in their fb and what they leave for their sellers so I have all the available blocks up like 2 strikes in a month and all. It's wise to have 2 ids. One to buy with and One to sell with. THat way as a buyer you can be honest about a transaction if you don't like it for somereason without messing up you selling id....works great for me and I have 911 all pos fb

It's very important. If the seller has negative feedbacks, why would you want to buy from him/her?
Many sites like amazon.com are providing feedback from other customers so that new customer can decide whether the product is worth buying.
Customer feedback are more realiable nowadays.
