what is the standard form of x squared + six y squared -2x + 12 y -23

i got

(x-1)^2 /23 + 6(y-1)^2 = 1

No, not if the correct expression is x^2 +6y^2 -2x +12y = 23

I believe it should be (x-1)^2 +6(Y+1)^2 = 30

It's kinda hard to figure out what you started with. Perhaps you'd like to rewrite it using lots of ( ), [ ], and { } for clarity.
