Firstly - NEVER switch it on or try when its wet - the water will cause the circuts to blow, and you cannot fix it when this happens.

Dismantle you Ipod Nano - not as hard as you think - check link out below.

Leave all components out in warm dry and most importantly dust free space. Be careful not to touch the circuits as your static charge may short curcuit the nano.

You could use this opportunity to change the battery too, but either way - once its dry, turn it on and if it doesn't work - the boards have had it, but you can at least keep the battery and screen for resale on ebay.

The Gardet show on Channel 5 dropped mobile phones in water and got them to work through this process.

Well honestly you shouldnt have tried to turn it on for risk of it short circuiting but dont worry too much about that what you should do is wait till it dries out (the screen being wet is ok just the port should be dry) and plug it up to your computer wait about an hour or two and your screen will start to flash and images will begin to show over time. Water spots will still be on the screen for a few days but they will wear away. Im having the exact same frikin problem rite now. But thats how u fix it. Glad to Help :)

Let it dry slowly...

Remove the batteries
Leave near a hot lamp (not in direct view)

Try for the best... water and electronics don't go together well I'm affraid.

You may also want a cotton bud to soak up water underneath where the battery was etc...

well my friend washed her ipod nano by mistake and it wouldn't turn on and she was afraid to tell her mom so months later she decided to put it in the dryer and have her mom just find it herself when she was taking clothes out of the dryer and when her mom turned it on to see if it was broken... it worked.

haha now i'm not telling you to do this but if you can't get it repaired or anything you can use it as a last resort and see if it works ;P

yeah, my nano just took a dunk while it was on. I watched the screen flicker a few times while I scrambled to shut it off.
I cracked it open and let it dry, but it's totally dead.
My computer doesn't recognize it when I plug it in. sucks.

Take out the batteries and let it dry out...maybe use the hair dryer on low.
