There are over the counter pregnancy tests that will detect pregnancy as early as 10 days after conception. These tests are inexpesive and fairly accurate. The next step would be Planned Parethood or your family doctor to confirm if the home test was positive. 2 days isn't really enough to be really stressed about and the more you stress the more likely you are to be late if its just your body. i suggest that if things are ok for your friend this time that she thinks seriously about a better form of birth control to avoid future worry. Condoms are less than 98% effective for pregnancy but they are a must to protect yourself from communicable diseases. The day after pill is now available for use if you think that your method of birth control wasn't effective or you had unprotected sex. With all the resources that are available today unwanted pregnancy should be a thing of the past. The unfortunate thing is that fear and ignoring the situation make many a young teenager a single parent. Good Luck.

Lee, i wouldn't go a freak out just yet. Not until you know that facts anyways. Just b/c she's two days late on her period doesn't mean anything. Alot of things can make our periods late. Mostly caused by stress, or if you two have been fighting. If you both want to know if she's pregnant or not then i would suggest getting a blood test done. Or taking a home pregnancy test. You'll have to wait a few more days to take the home pregnancy test, some people take it too early and it comes out negative, even though a woman is pregnant. (been there, done that). And Lee you're going to be 18 years old. If she is pregnant you need to step up to the plate and be a father to this baby!!! Good luck and best wishes!!!

It's only been 2 days. All the worry is probably stressing her out and affecting her hormones. Go get a test and have her use it. Then it will put both your minds at ease and she will probably start like that day just because she's not worried anymore.
If you used protection it is not likely that she is but it is possible.
Also, in the future have her take the pill and use a condom. You can never be too careful.
If she is pregnant explore all your options. Adoption is a wonderful thing! I have 2 adopted cousins that are great and we all love them and are so glad to have them in our lives.
You will need to help your g/f through this decision but let her know how you feel if she is pregnant. That you would support her in her decisions.
Then consider holding off on the sex until you are ready for all the consequences.
Good Luck

A hard stomach is not a sign of pregnancy. Women will on occasion have irregularity to their periods especially in her age group. Wait a week and get a pregnancy test. The ones you can buy are legit. Go to Planned Parenthood and get her on a reliable birth control. I would recommend Depo Provera which is a shot given every three months and after a year stops the bleeding of a period. Oh happy day. No bloating, no cramps, no fatigue, no back pain. Call around and see which clinic goes on a sliding scale so that it is affordable for everyone. Ask a lot of questions and write them down. If she is somewhat too infatuated with pregnancy, consider another partner or she might get pregnant in her delusional thinking and romanticizing a very difficult situation. Bless and release her. These are just ideas. Relax, she probably isn't pregnant.

If you are using protection then I doubt very much that your gf is pregnant. I didn't suffer with vomiting when I was pregnant. But in my teens my periods were irregular at times. It is not uncommen for a period to be several days late. If she still hasn't had a period after 2 weeks try to persuade her to see a doctor as there may be an underlying health issue for this. My stomach goes hard before I come on but didn't when I fell pregnant. I personally highly doubt that she is pregnant. Also if she has been worrying that she might be pregnant then it can make your periods late (it has done for me in the past). If she is pregnant and doesn't want to keep it then she can have abortion pills if it's caught early enough. I hope this helps.

It can be perfectly normal to be late when you start having sex I was always early and never late until I started having sex even if you have been for a while, it could also be stress if she has a lot of stress in her life that can cause it plus if she's on birth control if not taken exactly as it says to take it can also sometimes cause her period to be inconstant if she doesn't get her period have her take a home pregnancy test also if you don't have enough money or don't trust the test you can go to a teen pregnancy crisis center but be careful a lot of them will try and convince you abortions the best choice for you and thats not always the case.(or as I believe never the case).

Many times just the stress of worrying about being pregnant can have an adverse reaction on your body and change what is normal. Stress is known to delay the onset of menstruation...A simple pregnancy test should alleviate some of the fear. It's great that you use protection every time but no form of birth control is 100% effective except abstinence...and experience talking here. I got pregnant the first time.....17 is too young to be a mother....try to enjoy life and being young before you have the responsibility of children.

I would wait 2 weeks if still hasn't started then i would consider a pregnancy test. No matter if your alway early and never late there are many things in a persons life that can mess thier period up I have been a week late then i started so don't get all worked up it would be way to early to detect if she is pregnant by touching her stomach as This is also a common menstrual symptom.

I hear your question loud and clear. I urge you two go to the drug store and buy a pregnancy test. You can check whether she is pregnant or not. Then you have to map a plan what is next for your guys. Do not worry yet and stress can have an impact on your nerve. Take it easy and solve your problem one at a time. Good luck and let me know. Thank you for asking this question and I am sure many 17 and 18 out there want to ask. You two make your difference.
