Friend of mine (from Ireland) is travelling on the visa waiver programme but I wonder if there's anything she has to sign to say she is bringing below a certain amount of money?

As far as I know, there is nothing she has to sign to show how much money she has ....

The law is ... you MUST declare if you are carrying $10,000 or more in cash, bonds, etc. (anything that is cash or readily exchangeable into cash .. this does NOT include a debit or bank card even if the funds available are over $10k ... you aren't carrying the cash with you).

So, if she is carrying less than $10k with her, she is okay. If she is carrying more than that she has to declare it, and show the source of it.
