Prenatal vitamins give your body an extra boost of certain key vitamins that are needed if you become pregnant to prevent birth defects. Folic Acid has gotten a lot of focus lately as it helps to repair cells and create new ones inside your body. Other vitamins that are included in larger doses usually include Iron and Calcium.

To be sure that all the ingredients on your prenatal vitamins are listed as "water soluable". This is important because taking extra of some vitamins ("fat soluable") can also hurt the body. Any overdosing on water soluable vitamins, will be expelled through the body.

As I do not take pills, I opted for a list of vitamins that I needed to increase through diet. Thankfully my OB/GYN was understanding. I did end up having to take extra Folic Acid pills (which were much easier to get down) and it was quite interesting to see which foods had higher doses. For example, Cap'N Crunch cereal is higher in folic acid than most pre-sweetened cereals.

As for hair growth, it depends on your body chemistry. There's no guaranteed way to "regrow" hair. Folic Acid certainly may help you there, but it's important to note that hair is actually dead cells, which is why cutting your hair doesn't hurt.

I would certainly try the diet route first as the body absorbs vitamins found in food much better than it does from a gigantic pill.

That vitamin is designed for pregnant women, you shouldn't take it without reading the ingredients and compare them to regular vitamins, you might be getting too much of something you don't need and fat soluble vitamins taken in improper dosage can be toxic.
Hair can grow faster than the native new yorker suggested. B complex vitamins make my hair and nails grow like weed. But again they are fat soluble and one a day is enough
