what is curb rash? what does it mean? i hear people say it who have 18"-22" rims on their car.......answers please?

its when the car was pulled up to close to a curb and the rim got scratched

Frank is correct. In times past, tire width was much greater than the wheel width so that rubbing against a curb would only scratch the tire sidewall. As wheels got taller, wider and closer to the ground, the likelihood of wheel damage has dramatically increased.
