This is Distributive Property (My fav part)
5(p+7)=
( ) means multiply and letter p is 1, so means 5 times (1)p equals 5p
Again, 5 times positive7 is 35. Becuz positive 5 times positive 7 is equal positive 35. Same idea.
U should use this PEMDAS for math order (Order of Operations):

Addition
Subtraction
