NO IT CAN NOT be done On line, the only way a Document can be Notarised is to actually have
1st- A Notarised witness there to verify that You signed it
2nd- a Notarised Stamp from the Notarised person.
3rd- Your ID must be present and maybe along with social security card or some other form of ID
Whoever Gave me a thumbs down you don't know what you are talking about. You CAN NOT get a legal Paper Notarised without a Notary Public Being Present BOTTOM LINE. Get an Education.
I hate people that THINK they know what they are talking about when they don't know Shitzzz at all.
No one is Ignoring his statement, But the fact of the matter is When we are talking Legal Document that needs to be Proved by Witness, then the bottom line for the Time being is You MUST see a Notary Public
Look at it this way, Anyone could sign a Document saying you were going to owe them $10,000 dollars and will pay them the money and have it notarised on line. NOW is this a legally Notarised document, It cant be because their was no proof who signed the thing. That's what I'm getting at nothing less nothing more.
For those Non Belivers, Notary Public - English Dictionary
1. someone legally empowered to witness signatures and certify a document''s validity and to take depositions

I don't know why everybody has ignored the comment of the first poster. In some places, eNotarization of electronic documents is now possible, and probably will be possible in more areas in the future. It seems unlikely to me that a request would be made for notarization of a document to be returned by email if no procedures existed in the jurisdiction for notarizing it in its electronic form. (Note, it does not appear that eNotarization is authorized (or even possible) for paper documents.)

on account that she is legally your spouse and youngsters there's a conflict of pastime. A notary is basically signing a document to assert that you're who you assert you're and that you personally signed that diverse document. If there become ever an concern of if the document become honestly signed by way of then you definitely she might want to could say that sure she in reality said you signal the document and he or she examined that you've been who you stated you've been. on account that she is technically your spouse and youngsters then she "would" have a reason to no longer tell the completed reality. for this reason that notaries favor to be bonded and insured. it really is criminal and likely doesn't reason and concern, yet if you are that nerve-racking about it i might want to come across a notary that couldn't on the concern of you.

This is brand new, but electronic notarization is becoming the way to do business. Contact the Notary Division of your Secretary of State's Office for more information. You can also contact the American Notary Association.

Not that I know of. I thought that you had to be face to face for a notary to notarize something. Do you have the paper in your hand or do they want you to print it off, have it notarized and then email it?

I don't believe so. Notarizing includes a raised stamp on the document as well as signatures by the notary as a witness to your signature. I think whoever is asking you to do this is confused.
