I seriously laughed out loud when I read that Beckham ended up at L.A. Galaxy. I thought that it would be great if he just moved back to Manchester United. And no offence, but european soccer is much better than american soccer. And it's just, you know, Real Madrid, dude, it's like top-professional, and then he moves to what? Freakin' America (no offence, to you guys either)?! I think that his soccer career is so going down. He is getting older, and I must say that he hasn't impressed me lately.

He should have moved to Denmark an play for FC Copenhagen.... Hahah! I don't think Victoria would approve. Besides, Denmark is kinda boring (no offence to us either!).

He's no idiot-that's for sure! I mean, how can you call a person "idiot" when they just sign a multi-million dollar contract just to play what they like!!! Imagine if all us people that love playing football/soccer got sooo much money just for playing?! So idiot--nope--definitely not! He's just been eye-balling the money for a looong time! And he rocks cuz he's gonna play in the MLS!!! And he'll be closer to us Americans!!! And the soccer popularity will grow!!!

I don't. He's stated that he likes the US and that he hoped to play there. Now he's gotten his chance. This will not only give Beckham what he wants, including 250 million dollars, but also the opportunity to create new interest in the sport.

i do, there is absolutely no distinct reason why a player of his calibre should be playing for a second rate football country although there is more freedom here he has way too much talent in the football world to play for any second rate, at best, country's teams, he deserves to be in any of the worlds to leagues, including the two he has played in, the epl and the spanish premier league, also he could go to the bundesliga, the serie a, the dutch eridivisia and several other leagues which would be better than any american football club.

I live in the U.S. and I could care less. It is just a marketing ploy to make money and put more fans in the seats. The U.S. version of football reigns supreme here. Your version of football will never be as popular in the U.S. as it is all over the world. I'm not taking a shot at soccer, that is a fact.

I don't think he's an idiot for doing this. He's getting paid more than in Spain. Doesn't have to bother with spanish, and will get soccer the attention it deserves in the USA.

Not only is it an opportunity for Becks to broaden appeal for soccer in the US and MLS in particular, he and his wife Victoria might look to try their hand in Hollywood.

Nothing idiotic about that.

The only team he would have joined otherwise would have been Manchester United and Fergie doesn't want him back.

If it means more people in the states liking football then its a great move. If the U.S started getting more players then they would be a force in international football.
