Are you asking about real patriotism or the fluff that seems to count as patriotism these days.

Flag waving, bragging, etc. isn't patriotism.

Realizing that you have to work constantly to make your country even better is. Recognizing that no country is perfect but striving for that perfection through change is. Sadly, most Americans don't even know (or care) how their government works so how could they strive to ensure that it stays healthy, on the right track and working for the people?

I disagree, look at how much our Presidents are hated, be it Bush or Clinton. The next one will be hated too.

Now look at North Korea, now there are some patriotic people. They LOVE 'ol Kim. They refer to him as "great leader", they have huge rallies carrying his picture and praising his name. I'll bet if you went to Pyongyang, ANY person you would ask would say what a great country they live in, and what a great leader they have.

let's just say i wear an American Flag Bikini when i go to thje beach....lol...so i am very patriotic...i think Americans show more pride in their country than most
