if u have been looking for jobs and have rang a few places provide them with company names and numbers and write it all down send it in to show you have been looking or go back in and ask to go on one of the retraining courses for adults they should return the payments and possibly back date them .

Your JSA can be suspended, or just a portion of it suspended, for up to 26 weeks depending on how serious the 'breach'is. You can appeal against the decision (you should have been sent an appeal form automatically with your notification letter or you can ask the jobcentre for one.). You would need evidence that you had applied for sufficient jobs (copies of letters from you to the firms or from the firms to you, phone bill showing calls to firms numbers etc would be really good evidence.) Sometimes appeals are successful - but it would help if you got someone from your local welfare rights or CAB to go thru the form with you.
If you're really short of money for rent etc you could still apply for a crisis loan (if they tell you you have to be in receipt of JSA to clclaim a crisis loan theyre wrong, any one in crisis can apply) If it gets suspended and you get a job before the suspension ends, then end up claiming again later, the suspension can still be enforced for the next claim too. Hope this helps.

go up there with a baseball bat & beat the crap outta some of them.....(joking)
how can you apply for 10 jobs a week if there aren't at least 10 suitable jobs to be found ? ? ? If I were you I would go to the citizens advice bureau and get them to help.
and if that doesn't work try the national newspapers with your story, which will work well if you have young kids, etc.
The Dole people think they have the right to push you around, patronise you and treat you like a 3rd class person, simply because you (through no fault of your own) do not have a job and such treatment is just not acceptable.

I have heard of this happening to other people. They just went to the doc for a sick note while their benefit was stopped. The same people didn't do much to look for work. If you think you have a good case, make an appointment to see someone at the job centre or social security. Also visit the Citizens Advice. You can't live on air. Good luck

No, but my neighbour works for the Jobcentre and from talking to him in the past, if you don't do enough to find work initially your benefit will be suspended, reduced and possibly finally stopped.
What you see as doing enough may not be enough for them and the guidelines they are set. You should be applying for at least 10 jobs per week and attending interviews where possible. Plus, you should also be contacting possible employers by phone and keeping records of this!
If you don't supply this info - you may well lose out altogether!

The system will always win so don't think that you can outwit it.
they may fall over with top heavy paperwork but and bureaucracy but at the end of the day they can swallow you up within their system and make life so hard for you so get a job.
and the hounds will stop until the revenue want there pound of flesh.

What every fortnight? They're really asking a lot of you, aren't they?
Looks like you'll have to get a job!

Try harder to get a job, it sounds harsh but it's the truth. You don't really want to be on job seeker's allowance forever, that's no way to live.

as long as you fill in two firms a week that you have contacted by phone or letter and say you look at the papers , it keeps you right , you do'nt even have to do it , but you keep all your book's that you write them down in
