I'm trying to play moulin rouge and it plays fine except I can only hear the voices or singing really faintly. it's like a kareoke version of the film. I'd rather sing along than sing it all myself. anyone out there who can help me?
i'm not very computer minded, so dumb it down please

So long as it is playing video, then the two possibilities might be sound on the DVD software, so you should look for a volume option there. or in your sys tray( bottom right)... look for speeaker or sound card options, right click and go to sound or mixer, or whatever talks about speakers, you should then see a volume control there and just slide the bar upwards

Are you watching a snide copy or the real thing? If its snide probably corrupt audio files.

sounds like you may have the sound set to 5.1, if there is a setting ( on the dvd menu) for stereo or 2.1 try that.

delete it, and then reload it, and see if that helps. there may have a soft ware conflict going on.
