When his new father-in-law, King Harold (John Cleese) falls ill, Shrek (Mike Myers) is looked at as the heir to the land of Far, Far Away. Not one to give up his beloved swamp, Shrek recruits his friends Donkey (Eddie Murphy) and Puss in Boots (Antonio Banderas) to install the rebellious Artie (Justin Timberlake) as the new king. Princess Fiona (Cameron Diaz), however, rallies a band of royal girlfriends to fends off a coup d'etat by the jilted Prince Charming (Rupert Everett)

The basic plot is when Fiona's father dies, it is up to Shrek and Fiona to step up to the throne. They don't like the idea of this and try to get Fiona's lacky cousin to become the new king so that Fiona and Shrek can go back to living in the swamp.

Fiona's father dies and it's up to Shrek to take over Far Far Away as King. But neither him or Fiona want to live there, they want to go back to their swamp and live there happily. So Shrek finds Prince Artie (voiced by Justin Timberlake) and tries to train him to be king.

the movie is going to be about Sherk maybe king of Far Far Away unless Fiona can find her cousin Artie to be the next king of Far Far Away.
