This could be one of many different problems. First, try making sure the cable is well connected. Some ethernet cables, especially free ones that come with modems, don't always fit well. You might want to try buying a better cable. But before you do that, try checking all the other connections (between wall and modem). If none of this works, you may need a new modem. Contact your ISP and tell them what the problem is. They'll tell you the same thing I just said, say "No, I already tried that, I think the modem is the problem." If you get a new modem and it still doesn't work, then chances are the problem is with your ISP, in which case you should find a new one.

It could be a problem with Sky during busy times. If you are connected by ethernet cable it is unlikely to be a problem your end

The best advice would be to suggest that you call Sky and complain about this problem. It looks like others have the same problems. Nothing light a fire under a telecommunications and Internet company like losing customers.

if u are connected thru a hard ethernet wire and still does down, than either u got a bad cable or ur modem is bad other wire the line thats coming into your house is bad...
