YES!! I love Dean Koontz and have been recommending Watchers to a lot of people who have been asking "what's a good book I should read". The first book of Mr. Koontz's I read was Strangers. I loved it so much that when I saw Watchers, I picked that one up too and loved it even MORE than Strangers. I have kept up with all of his books ever since and have enjoyed them all. Two of my other very favorites of his are Sole Survivor and Lightning. I enjoy all of his books but I think those four are my very favorites. Although I also like....no, better stop before I list every book he's written. :)

Before your read Koontz or King or even Straub, for that matter, I'd pick up "The Beast Within" by Edward Levy.
Mr. Levy is a little less well known but this book is the creepiest thing I have ever read and a great introduction to the horror genre!!

Read The Taking, it's my favorite so far, I love Dean Koontz. It's about the night the world ends. It's so suspensful and fast paced, realistic but not.. it's a good book. (I liked it better than Velocity)

i might especially advise Watchers, my all time prominent Koontz e book. Gosh even with the indisputable fact that, they are all good, Lightning, Servants of Twilight (as yet another answerer stated-certainly no longer something to do with the at present common twilight sequence), Phantoms, Whispers, chilly fireplace. i ought to bypass on & on yet i'm particular you get the image that i'm a extensive Koontz fan!

Twilight Eyes. I really, really enjoyed that one. And it was long before he went crazily religious. The book is just a very good read in the mystery/horror genre.

He is by far my favorite. I've read at least 15 of is books and only one was disappointing, so skip Demon Seed. The best book so far was "Intensity", at was awesome!

Well, you can't go wrong with any of his books. He is a fantastic writer. Out of all of them, I'd start with Watchers. A truly great, well told, and even touching story. I guarantee you'll enjoy it!
