JDawg, lighten up, will ya? I happen to LOVE Les Paul and even play some of his arrangements. You could have just included his name and been nice.

Les Paul is great, but so is Lenny Breau, and John Scofield plays some INSANE tasty licks on his records "Bump", "A Go-Go" and "...Plays Ray Charles". That last disc is a cover of Ray Charles tunes, and Scofield just gets skanky all over it....

I like Jaco Pastorias (sp?) myself. Especially his fretless bass stuff :)

Richie Sambora - he's overlooked and should be up there with the best of the best.
Some of those guitar solo's he does are amazing.
