its not ironic...
the "let it be free" stoners of the 60's really believe that life is important (what else they got?) and that each individual should be allowed to live their life as they choose...
thus, a drugged out dude like shouild be allowed to enjoy whatever but he is "valuable" so we must create a program to help him (get better,stay high,feed,shelter,and not upset him (bring him down to the boring mundane life with responsibilities and demands).
-IT"S the idea that you can and should have everything you want and others that wont give it to you are simply tooooooooooo straight.
What I am amazed by --is that people keep trying to explain how there is NO logic to what they do/ say/ want /demand/declare as the "right" thing...Logic neurons do not function in these people (maybe a drug side effect ?)
They have become convicted hedonists who have never really embraced the concept that they are responsible for their actions .Nor do they comprehend that the desire for the "groovy buzz" coupled with instant gratification is simply a cop out and escape from reality. AS humans, however, they are competent manipulators who can bilk the confused,sympathetic,wanna be fair/do the right thing types as well as the paranoid and mild resisters to "authority types .
-You forget or maybe dont know but their babies also were provided with what they needed to make them happy (and their parents). A little grass sprinkled into the babies cereal or brownie snack served to get the kid mellowed out...
----IGNORANCE and hypocracy do NOT work either..they have experienced "enlightment" so those who have never really "come together" or felt the rush,felt the worlds spirituality etc cant "really" understand ..they are sadly ignorant and missing what really real...
HYPOCRACY is explained away or not acknowledged) as -what they know now (depending on what neurons are stimulated/working) trumps whatever limited or misunderstood thought or stance they had in the past...
Sad to say but many of these enlightened hedonist and their offspring infest political positions , the press(print) and especially the media.

Funny, as I recall the last drugged out Political commentator was none other then Conservative Talk show host Rush Limbaugh. The biggest hypocrites also happen to be from the right... the Religious Right... nutbars like Reverend Haggard, Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell and Jimmy Swaggart. I also happen to recall many members of the Bush administration either indicted, in jail or about to go to jail for breaking the law. Wasn't Mr Foley a republican? Didn't he condemn sickos who prey on young Americans only to do it himself? Isn't that the definition of hypocrisy? What about Scooter Libby, Karl Rove or Tom Delay?
Instead of placing Hypocrisy on the heads of Neo-Libs as you call them.. why not have a long hard look at your own right-wing nut jobs?

Not Ironic at all. They are for the right of a woman to choose to with her body as she will. Not let some republican tell her to do what he thinks is best. How about she lets the baby live and YOU adopt it? hehe that'll happen... * eyes rolling*
about abortion. whether you agree or not its not an area that needs government regulation. what does need regulation though is the amount of abortions a woman can have. Some women use it as a method of birthcontrol.
But thats my opinion.
There is a difference between an unborn fetus and a child running around playin g with toys that gets shot in the head by a soldier.

The fetus is a human life and should be protected. Da Bigg Q wants to use abortion to control population because he's afraid he won't have space. His parents should have practiced birth control.

a fetus is not a baby. it is a couple hundred cells clumped together. when you consider the overpopulation and the natural resources that are just getting pissed away, this is part of the solution.
