I watched 'IT' when I was younger, and have had a fear of clowns ever since!

I have forgotton most of the film and so was getting on with my life when I stupidly decide to see 'The Grudge'. So im back to square one, sleeping with the tv on or something every night. What an awful film. I don't know if anyone else feels the same but I go to see a scary film and sit there the whole time looking at the walls thinking "why did i bloody do this again?" Im the biggest wuss ever!!

Now I am scared of clowns AND chinese people!!

The Exorcist. I saw it when I was about 8 years old...Not a good move! It may not be as scary as my 8 year old mind thought it was, but I've never been able to watch it since then. I tried to read the book when I was about 20 years old and that also scared the crap out of me. (Yes, it felt like I was 8 again.) I had to remove the book from the house.

PS: Someone just said "The Shining". The Exorcist is still scariest for me, but The Shining might be next. That little kid with the weird voice and the "redrum" thing....

The scariest movie I saw, is probably the 6th Sense, it wasnt that the plot was scary, but the surprises were extremly frightning. Especially with the woman in the kitchen. Also I saw someone say wolf creek as a scary movie, that has to be the least scariest and dumbest movie ever made.

unfortunaelty in this day and age of crime and murders films cant really be scary anymore, it all goes back to the days of video nasties really..the exorcist, the evil dead and the omen were terrifying in their time and that stayed with me all through til i had kids and nowadays my 12 year old son says i like the old horror films cos their not scary, lol.
i think the creepier films like the ring and the grudge are the scariest because the images linger in the mind .
The Thing was quite a shocker in its day, so was An American werewolf in london

take a look at some of the oldies like The Night of the Hunter (1955). I still get bad vibes about when I saw the Exorcist in the cinema and the taxi driver who pleaded with me not to go and see the movie

Argento's classic shocker Suspiria takes some beating.
Try Exorcist 3 as well.
Cannibal Holocaust is mind glowingly disturbing

Since you are hard to scare I would suggest the original Texas Chains Saw Massacre. It's eerie as hell and sometimes that's better than scary.
