Hey, I got a positive test but my period started anyway! Huh? Since some HPT's are so sensitive, they can detect a pregnancy in its very early stages. Unfortunately, it's estimated that up to 50% of pregnancies are lost very early on. In the past, most women did not even realize they were pregnant-- their periods would arrive on time, or perhaps a day or two late. Now, women testing very early may get a positive test, but experience bleeding almost immediately afterwards. This is an early miscarriage, also referred to as a "chemical pregnancy." It is likely that you did conceive and the embryo implanted for a short time before dying. This miscarriage is "disguised" as a period because the bleeding happens right around the time you would expect your period. Because this is so common, you probably have nothing to worry about, medically speaking, if it happens to you once or twice (although it is still heartbreaking when it happens!) If, however, this happens to you more than a couple times, or in consecutive pregnancies, you should discuss it with your doctor, as this can signal a problem (which can oftentimes be corrected with minimal treatment.)
That said, it is also possible to experience some spotting or bleeding and still have a healthy pregnancy, so don't panic! It may be implantation bleeding (from your baby snuggling in your uterus for a nice long stay!) If you experience bleeding after a positive pregnancy test, you should call your doctor.

You could have had a very, very early miscarriage. If you hadn't even taken a pregnancy test, you might have never even known that you were pregnant at all. I know a few people who got pregnant and then a week later get their period. It's not really a period though. It's bleeding from the miscarriage, but it seems like a period. Was the bleeding even slightly heavier or just a little more uncomfortable than your usual period? If so, that could mean a miscarriage. Some people aren't trying to get pregnant but then get pregnant accidentally and never realize they are pregnant because they miscarry so early. They just think their period was a little late.

You should go see a doctor. I know someone who had taken 3 test that all came back negative and she was pregnant. Just because you had your period doesn't mean anything. Test like EPT and Clearblue are designed to detect pregnancy before you even have your period. Better off knowing now if the test was right then waiting for another month to see if it was wrong.

Could of been a false positive test. If you took it a week before your peroid it might have been too early to tell anything. If your really concerned take another test by a differant company. Some people do keep there period durng pregancy but it dosent happen that often I dont think. If it comes up positive again, go see a doctor!

Take another pregnancey test after your period is over. Some women have their period while being pregnant. I had mine the first month that I was pregnant with my oldest child. My mother had hers for four months while pregnant with my youngest brother and the doctor didn't believe her when she kept telling him she was pregnant. Your doctor will do a blood test and that will be a sure thing.

The "era" you had replaced into probable purely implantation bleeding, whilst the embryo embeds itself into the uterine lining. that's totally no longer likely that 2 abode exams are incorrect. you would be wanting to confirm this with the healthcare expert's appointment, they are going to probable do a blood try to verify the HCG hormones are increasing on the right fee. in case you have been bleeding, you're able to be able to have been pregnant yet are miscarrying and the hpt nonetheless says advantageous because of the fact the tiers are nonetheless severe sufficient to p.c.. it up. because of the fact of this that's significant to bypass to the healthcare expert and ensure with a blood try. you do no longer opt to be all excited or annoying over no longer something. some million in 4 pregnancies miscarry, that's totally hassle-free in early being pregnant. i'm no longer attempting to frighten you or concern you, purely letting you realize in view that happened to me two times. in case you miscarry, you could attempt returned in approximately 3 months. purely keep an open recommendations in view which you probably did have the era. some women human beings have their known cycles for the period of being pregnant.

you could have a chemical pregnancy. that is when the egg and the sperm (fertilized of course) enter the uterus.. but they never implant. so then your egg dies off and all your hormones go away and you have your period like normal.
