I personally love chicken and to be honest I think most blacks do. One time I had cravings for chicken for a whole month. It's a rather funny stereotype that is almost true. Why do we take it offensively, well its also how people say it.

I'm not sure how that stereotype got started, although it's funny, my friend, who's black, asked somebody why they had a Cracker Barrel and not a place called n***** bucket, and somebody said "They do, it's called KFC" Their words, not mine. So, don't even call me a racist.

Im black too and i find it funny, cause white people love fried chicken 2! But if u go into black areas of town, u will see 20 chicken places!!! its crazy.....i dont take it offensively when joking with my husband but i dont want a white person at work to joke about blacks lovin fried chicken. Its uncalled for Every sterotype is based on the truth.

It's actually a southern thing. Fried chicken especially. Doesn't matter if your black or white, fried chicken's king. Most blacks came into the south during slavery. When they move away, they took the love of it with them. Many blacks haven't had a lot of money (historically). Chicken's always been inexpensive, as far as most meats.

Yeah, that stereo type is pretty funny. It's the way people say it, and because stereotyping is normal, some people tend to take it over board thinking that if they say it to be insulting, people wouldn't notice, but it's pretty clear to tell whose just joking and who isn't. And I hate KFC, it's way to greasy, I like hard fried chicken. I would too choose Spanish or Mexican and Chinese food over KFC. Anyway, many people can be insulting with Stereo types. When I met my Pakistani friend back in February and told some of my friends, one said "Where did you meet him? Seven Eleven?" When actually I met him at Olive Garden. I told her the way she said it was funny, but don't say it anymore. My friend Usman is use to stereotypes about Middle Eastern people, and he too agrees that it's just offensive to him if someone is insulting him. Me, I know many sterotypes about black people, and it only upsets me a little when people just say it to be rude. And that goes for any race.

All blacks are not the same one of us can not speak for the whole race... chicken is alright there is nothing special about it and my son doesn't like it at all. In fact I only know of one person that eats chicken all the time, no one else I know likes it all like that (a whole month of chicken .... hell naw!)

I agree. human beings of all races love hen. i'm particular you be conscious basically as many white human beings devour hen too. anytime I go by way of a hen joint, there are more effective white individuals than the different race. This racial stereotype is hit upon to dehumanize African human beings. sure. you're racist. lower back, All races devour watermelon too because it truly is sweet. Are you going to submit questions about Asians and rice and Mexicans and beans and tacos? >< Why do human beings submit racist questions and then say they're no longer racist?

Maybe you just grew up eating a lot of it?
Fried things perhaps?

In the midwest we don't fry stuff much at all, I have heard it's way more common in the South? Is that the case here?

I think we all crave fried chicken once in a while, even us midwestern white people. ;0) It's common to crave fatty things even if you rarely have them or are not brought up on them. It's universal. :0D

I'm white and I love chicken!

I live in Quebec, and a local joke is that francophones have a May West (a cheap, chocolate covered single portion cake) and Pepsi for breakfast.
