my friend wanted to go to a strip club near us for their amateur night. she said she wanted money, she has enough money and a job so its not like shes starving to pay the bills or anything. anyways, we were talking last night about it, and i ended up getting a little mad and told her that it was tacky and a poor way to show off her intelligence. especially because shes taken many womens studies and women in power classes. i told her that stripping would be a bad way to show appreciation for all the women who have tried so hard to further women in society.
one of my friends said that she shouldnt do it, but said i was being too harsh and critical.
i need more opinions....im confused now if i was right for expressing my beliefs, or wrong in that i was being too critical?

Strippers are looked at as eye candy and drooled over for their bodies. There are a lot of stippers I like to look at, but not many I enjoy talking to or even care to have a converstaion with. Having said that, does your friend do bachelor parties???

She wants to strip, let her strip. whether it turns out bad or good, it's an experience. It's not like she's going to consider a career as a stripper. Tomorrow she'll put her glasses back on and and that'll be that, but she can always tell the story about the time when she danced at a strip club and people will go "oh my god, YOU did that?"

You are never wrong for expressing your beliefs. Just expect that not everyone will agree. I think if I had the perfect body, I would maybe try it. Just because someone strips does not mean they are not intelligient. She's taken women's power classes so, she's getting all the power when men give her a ton of money!

You are. It's her life and her business. Let her make her own decisions. I mean it's okay to give her your opinion but leave it at that. Getting mad about it is going too far.

The problem I have with stripping is that it is abusing mens sexuality. Men like to look, it cant be helped but stripping is an abuse of that aspect of male sexuality.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion even her. You dont have to support her decision but it is her body so I wouldnt say anything else about.

YOU DID THE RIGHT THING. TRYING TO GET YOUR FRIEND TO UNDERSTAND SHE'S BETTER THAN THIS. YOU WEREN'T TOO CRITICAL. IT MAY GIVE YOUR FRIEND SOME THINGS TO THINK ABOUT. SHE STILL MIGHT DO IT. DON'T KNOW WHY. NOT ME.
