... how are God and the Devil any different when all four ARGUABLY come from the same place?

No, I'm not trying to rile anybody up here and I'm not saying I lean one way or another, SO PLEASE DON'T ATTACK THE QUESTIONER. I'm just interested in how people reconcile these seemingly contradictory issues.

PS: I put this question in P&S and not in Religion b/c I value your opinions more than those religious zealots who most likely would be more interested in attacking me than in thinking about their beliefs.

It is very unnatural of people to believe on god. It is very harmful by nature. There is a natural desire for little infants and children to understand the world around them as evidenced by the way their face lights up every time they discover a new color or shape or bit of knowledge.

The idea of god is evil to the core when it paralyzes a child and commands them to act on faith and not reason and scene perception.

Religion then is instinctively rejected and avoided as evil by little children because these children are too young to have been taught by theists to hate.

The goal of religious people is never to 'save' the soul but to break it and rule it. Santa Clause the Easter Bunny appeal to kids and, in effect, 'train' kids away from knowledge via reason and scene perception until a point is reached they are so bewildered and damaged spiritually and intellectually they give up and accept faith. This is why they are so similar.

You are absolutely correct and I have thought this for many years. The only thing anyone has told me otherwise is that there is physical proof of things that happened in "The Bible", but I've never heard anyone saying they had seen physical proof of a "Santa Claus", or "Easter Bunny"....... You sure opened a can of worms here, but I would do the same, it's a perfectly logical question, and I think you chose the right forum to ask it.

Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny were probably a re-creation of something real.

Hi I would think that the thought of good and evil have existed in man's imagination since the beginning. I mean when you look at it, even tribes today who have no means of technology or no concept of civilized life believe that there is good and evil. Before the white man came, the natives believed and told tales of good being and evil beings. The concept of good and evil is in every relm of civilization.
In answer to your question I would think it is up to every individual to believe what they want to believe. some people believe that God is a woman, some believe that Elvis is a god of some sort.
