I know that some babies are slower at other but they all walk when they are ready some sooner than other some later. My daughter was 9mo when she walked i'm getting ready to have my second you can't be really sure when they will its all in the will power of the child and if you try and push they might not do it at all. I got her a toy that she could push along stood her up on it and let her go and its what got her walking.

There is no set age by which a baby will walk - every baby is different and every baby will do it when they want to and are able to. I've heard that boys are slower to walk then girls but you just never know.
My first daughter walked at 9month, my second was premature and didn't walk until she was well over 13 months.

Doctors don't really worry until 18 months. My first walked at 13 mo and it wasn't her plan it just an accident, by 15 months she was walking on her own.

My perfectly healthy (now nearly 5-year-old) daughter took her first steps at 14 months. She was born April 8 2002 and took her first steps on Father's day 2003 (she knew how to pick an audience even then).

My cousin's baby didn't walk until he was 19 months. He was delayed in most motor skills. The whole family was concerned and she had him checked out for all sorts of degenerative conditions that could cause such a delay in walking. Thankfully, he is just delayed and totally fine.

my daughter started walking around her first birthday, and was walking well by about thirteen months. a little boy in our play group didn't even attempt to walk until about fifteen months. as long as he has another way to get around, like crawling, most doctors will not worry until he is about 18 months. a lot of factors come into play with walking. babies who are on the larger size of the scale tend to walk a little later. premature babies often walk later as well. good crawlers prefer to crawl then try walking. if he is still not trying to walk by fifteen months, it is worth a mention to his pediatrician (most doctors shedule a well baby visit this month) but i'm sure he will come around.

is he crawling? if not you might have a serious developmental problem. but if he is crawling then you are fine, most babies find they get around faster by crawling then walking. dont worry he will start soon, some kids dont start until about 1 1/2 years.
