The ball and the boat each have a mass of 100g. How does the forces A and B make the boat float?

Force A is going UP and Force B is going DOWN. The boat and the ball are made with modelling clay and they are both in the water.
Pleaseeeee help!!!!!!!!!!!!!

boiancy (sp?) anyway, the boat has more surface area for the water to push up on it keeping it afloat but for the ball there isn't enough force to keep it up.
