To turn a percent into a fraction, you need to divide it by 100.
First, I would convert it to an improper fraction.
8 1/3 = 25/3
Now divide it by 100.
8 1/3% = (25/3)% = (25/3) / 100 = 25/300 = 1/12

8 1/3% = (3 x 8 + 1)/3% = 25/3 %

(25/3)/100 = (25/3) x (1/100) = 25/300

25 divides into both the numerator and denominator.

So, reduced to smallest terms, you get:

25/300 = (25 x 1)/(25 x 12) = 1/12.

8 1/3 is the same as 8.333333333333333333.

to get the percent, move the decimal place 2 times to the left, which is the same as dividing the number by 100. this gives you 0.0833333333.

1/12 written another way is 1 divided by 12. that answer is 0.083333333.
