They started out in a gang and they will continue to be in that gang until they either die or get "jumped" out. They have "beef" because of how much gangsters have been "glamorized" through the movies. Most rappers will rap about things going on in their neighborhoods. Others are just wanna-bes'. Not all rappers make good money. In this country if you bring awareness to what's wrong then you get ridiculed and critisized by the government. Look at NWA, 2livecrew, and Tupac. These people were sought by the government because they were sick and tired of being mistreated and they complained about it. The government doesn't like it when they are exposed for the corrupt organization that they are. Thank you.

I think rappers beef for a lot of reasons. They could just be jealous or they could be trying to destroy somebody else's career in order to better their own. To me, when rappers beef I see them as weak because if you have to put down somebody else in order to make yourself look good you have some real self-esteem issues.

For the same reason wrestlers threaten each other on camera before a match; it's good theatre and it stokes feelings up.

they don be making any money when they start beefing. tyhey do that to get alittle buzz. to get people saying you heard that this cat was talking trash dissing you on the mix tapes. and they usually start with someone thats already made a name for their selves. like 50 he wasnt known he was underground. what he do diss ja who was already known. started talking trash ja got wind of it he started back. all in front of the media. so, the medias like whos this 50 fella you beefing with. and it starts from there. its all about getting known, getting your name out.

because without drama it could be boring? it also hypes up the situation, people will pay attention to it and hopefully their low record sales could have a little boost
