This is not an equation (because there is no equals sign).
What are you trying to do?
Also, is it (2x^2 + 3x - 4) / (x-5) or 2x^2 + 3x - (4/(x-5))?

As stated above, this is no solution until you put in a value for x. Thus, if x is 3, then 2x is 6 so 2x^2 is 6^2 or 36 etc.

An easy way to get a solution is to put the expression (no x's) into Google and ENTER.

If x is 3, the enter 6^2+9-4/(3-5)

hi!!! where is the equation? 2x^2 + 3x - 4 / (x-5) = ?????
x is the question, isn't it? so 2x^2 + 3x - 4 / (x-5) should be equalling something.
try to submit the right problem.

i agree this is not an equation
but if you are trying to simplify it, it is already in its simplest form because the top of the problem cannot be simplified.
