Few, if any democrats or liberals called for an IMMEDIATE withdrawal of all troops. Most agree that, now that we're there, we need to fix what we've broken. I'm sure that Iraqis want us to fix what we've broken and then go home, too, although I've never seen a poll on that.
Most Iraqis (and Muslims in general) probably wouldn't mind the idea of help from the US, as long as it is temporary. We have a tendancy to go in to help and end up setting up permanent bases, building $600 million embassies, and staying long past when the need for our help has expired.
How would you feel if a plumber came to fix a faucet and ended up camped out in your bathroom for 10 years? It'd piss me off...
As I've said before, a goal-based timetable is the best plan of attack - fix the faucet and go home.

Of course they still want us there, we are the only thing stopping this burgeoning civil war from being an all out catastrophic wholesale slaughter of whichever faction ends up on the losing end. Of course they want us there, they can't get it together enough to run their own country. Of course they want us there, we created this mess and now we expect them to clean it up. There are surely also many Iraqis who do NOT want us there. There is no consensus on the numbers of Iraqis divided on this line.

We shouldn't be in Iraq to begin with. Both Democrats and Republicans from both parties agreed with Bush after 9/11 to go to war. Now members of both parties are showing their true colors! I will never vote for neither! Their all corrupt!

I assume you have proof that EVERY Iraqi citizen wants us there, since that's the assertion you're making here?

the democrats ARE the liberals, champ.
and how can you possibly assume you know the sentiment of an entire nation? if you're really criticizing the democrats, liberals, and the left (lol) for making a bold statement like they don't want us, you're doing the exact same thing.

what? you're twisting this twice as bad as anyone in the liberal media?
the poll seemed to say "within a year" which could include anywhere from today to next January... within, not after a year
at the very least... it's not very encouraging... and would much more lean toward "they don't want us there" than "they want us there for a year"
