Birth control is most effective when it is taken responsibly and under the doctor's instuctions. Since you're not, you're playing a little game of chance that could have some life-altering consequences.

For the time-being you're safe. And chances are you're probably going to be safe. But the chances of you being safe are so much higher if you just take it according to your doctor's instructions.

Let's just say you're safer than if you weren't taking it at all, but you're decreasing the effectiveness of the pill if you don't take it the way you're supposed to. It's like if you have sex for a few minutes and then decide to have the guy put a condom on. You've lowered the effectiveness of it, even though you're most likely not going to get pregnant.

Why take your chances? Take it every night. If you forget, use an alternate form of pregnancy protection.

Well according to your body. Usually just a day behind won't hurt but of course there are people that still get pregnant while taking it regular. I personally have been taking it for years and missed several doses. I can make it up and not had a problem. The only time I have been pregnant is when I got off the pill on purpose. Just be careful you may be one of those people in that small percentage where it will fail so try not to take chances.

Every time I see my doctor I ask "is the pill 99% effective or not" and I always get the same answer, "yes, if it is used correctly". She also told me that 15 minutes will make a difference in regards to taking your pill at the same time everyday. You must take it at the same time everyday in order for it to be effective.

You would need to double it whether you have sex or not. If you do not double up one day just because you did not have sex that day, you can get pregnant. There is a reason they are supposed to be taken everyday.

I was on bc for a long time and was very good about taking it. I always let my husband **** in me with no worries. We've been together for 7 year, I have yet to have gotten pregers!! I wouldn't worry.

Well...you should be fairly safe. It is really hard...but not impossible for a woman to get pregnant while on her period. Good luck to you.
