On each individual section it's 800. You total the sections for the overall score. The maximum used to be 1600, but it recently changed (with a new writing exam) to 2400.

800 per section, there are 3 sections, so 2400. The maximum essay score is 12.

800 for each math, verbal, and writing.
It used to be 1600, but it is now 2400 with the writing.

1600 is the best for SAT's.
