Russell, Quinn is not going to be that great.

Quinn will be chosen first.

I mean I really don't think it is any question that Quinn is a much better QB. Now Quinn is getting a bad wrap because of his play in the Sugar Bowl. And Russell is getting a lot of attention because of his play in the Sugar Bowl.

Yet when you consider the season I think Quinn should go first to the Raiders. Russell is fun to watch because he is a big guy.

A lot will depend on their combine and personal workouts. A lot can happen between now and draft day but if the draft was today and I was the Raiders and I was picking a QB I would go with JaMarcus because he looks to be the more ready NFL quarterback. NFL body and NFL arm. Now granted Quinn did play for a NFL coach and has been touted as the more ready QB for a pro style offense but when you look at Quinn's worst games this year (SC, Michigan and LSU) they where against blitzing, athletic defenses. The same kind of defenses that he will see in the League.

The Raiders are in need of a lot. But if they do not trade the pick Russell will be #1. The success of V.Young this year will raise his stock. If your looking for QB smarts and a good QB in 2 years Quinn is your man. The comparison is unfair, look at the athletes that LSU and Russell had on O and then look at the athletes Notre Dame had on D...not even close.

I think it depends on what they look at. If they look at the Sugar bowl, i'd go w/ Russell. Preformance in whole, Quinn. Mostly because Quinn is a NFL ready QB, because of his coach. He's put him in an NFL style offense since he got there.
Smith will not be the first, second, or maybe not even third QB to go, why? It was proven he can't play with a fast D. He couldn't stay composed.

Russell will go first unless the Raiders trade down. The Raider's QB is the biggest hole in their lineup right now - they're super-deep at WR, even if they trade away Porter or Moss. Jordan is a solid running back, assuming he recovers from his MCL tear completely. Their O-line isnt going to warrant a first overall pick, and their D is really coalescing as a unit.

Russell is the more attractive QB to them because he's a) super-huge and mobile, which takes some pressure off the stinky O-line. Quinn is a smaller, classic pocket passer, who probably wouldnt do well with D-liners in his face every other dropback. B) he had a much hotter bowl game. Depending on his combine workout, he's probably going to be the most attractive, even though he can only really hurt himself at this point. Remember, Vince Young went first of last year's big 3 even though he tanked his Wonderlic test... C) The Raiders probably wont trade down, as Davis wants to win next year, not rebuild, and they're probably using the first overall pick as incentive to attract a good head coach, who'd be mighty riled if they traded it away when he wanted to use it. Taking a hot new QB and firing Shell might be enough to convince either Porter or Moss to hang on for another season, too.

I have to go with Quinn. The smart QB's do great in the NFL. Russell is good too but i don't see him having as much success in the pros. They are both good, just Quinn is better. Plus his coach was an NFL coach so he is a little more used to the system.

Quinn is a better fit he plays in a pro offense in college and can make any team better. Russell may help today maybe not but I don't believe he has the mentality to take a team that sucks anywhere you are only as good as your fellow players and he has a bunch of great players on his team.

Like VY last year, Russell will take advantage of the momentum he's built from the bowl game. I see him being taken before Quinn.
