im not a designer, but i have some ideas for baby clothing. how do i go about contacting a fashion designer and a manufacture?

Check inside labels of baby clothes. Contact all the suppliers that you can with your idea.

If they all say no, then find a seamstress or alterations shop and see what they'll charge to produce some. Better yet if you can find a sewing company close to you. Get you a tax permit - resale certificate, rent a store and sell your own baby clothes.

Most clothing manufacturing takes place outside of the united states, in a number of different countries. Though there are a few factories that may produce in the US, I believe Gap still has a US based factory.

With regard to your clothing ideas, you'd likely have to lobby that idea to a name brand, who will either accept it or reject it. If you're hoping to get some sort of monetary reward for your idea, I'm uncertain as to what steps you should take to protect your idea.
