I need help with polynomials. Please explain how to find the answer and please give the answer.

1. 14m^2 = 11mr - 15r^2

2. Write an explaination as to why most people would find it more difficult to factor 36x^2 - 44x - 15 than 37x^2 - 183x - 10

I messed up a sign! It is 14m^2 + 11mr - 15r^2

1) 14m² = 11mr - 15r²

Get everything on the same side:

14m² - 11mr + 15r² = 0

I don't think this is factorable??

The discriminant (the part under the square root in the quadratic equation) is b² - 4ac = 121 - 4(14)(15) = -719, and whenever the discriminant is negative, there are no real roots. Did you mess up a sign?

Ah ok.

14m² + 11mr - 15r² = 0

And then

(7m - 5)(2m + 3) = 0

So

m = 5/7 or m = -3/2.

2) The second is easier because 36 has lots of factors to try (1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 9, 12, 18, and 36), but 37 is prime, so the only factors you could possibly use are 1 and 37.
