One of the first missions to Mars found what they thought might be evidence of former microbial life, but the findings are inconclusive at best, so that isn't counted as life or evidence of life. You might see news releases from a recent talk at the AAS meeting about NASA killing life on Mars - the talk actually said that IF there was hydrogen-peroxide based life on Mars (and we don't know that there is or even could be), we probably did some damage to it with out missions to Mars.

The book, "The Mars Mystery," was written by a retiree from NASA. Not only does it have photos, but basically it declares that NASA found pyramids on mars, which were not caused by the natural elements. The largest one was 100 times the Khufu's pyramid at Giza. There was a tribe in Africa that said that Egyptians came about because a spaceship delivered women (perhaps w & men) from mars because it was dying. Mars also has ice caps, dried up river beds and lakes. There is a huge crater and directly opposite the planet a bulge (has a name, it escapes me now) that was believed to have been caused by a meteor. I'm curious as to what causes the red atomosphere. Is it the after affects, chemical reaction? Mars does spin like the earth, though I believe the days there are longer. There is microbial life on mars, and if the ice caps melted, it has been speculated that it would become another Earth. The pyramids are pyramids. There is also a very distinct face that is similiar to the Sphinx, they think it was a sphinx that has just been knocked down, and staring up. Check out that book!! It is factual and informative. Also check out a National Geographic archives. There was an issue in Jan. Feb. or March about 7-8 years ago, that discusses in length about the bulge, ice caps, waterways, rotational cycle, microbial life and more.

We don't know for sure. There is and was water on Mars. We think water once flowed in rivers on Mars, but now it is all frozen. No life has been found on Mars by space craft. The best evidence that microbes may once have lived on Mars comes from a meteorite recovered on Earth, but not everyone agrees. See the source.

We simply don't know yet. There is evidence that suggests that there may have been life on mars, however, there is no convincing evidence of life on mars yet. The fact that there are some things that suggest Mars may have had life means that we need to do further investigation. As of this moment the jury is still out.

I read somewhere that Mars used to be like Earth until it's atmosphere dissolved due to the weak gravitational pull...

There is no proof as yet that there was. If there was proof, you definitely have heard about it.
