If it was on purpose - stay with the friend who got hit in the face as maybe the other guy is crazy or he might do it to you too.

I would suggest staying out of the arguement that they are having (regardless of who's right or wrong). Let them both deal with it. Also, let them both know that you are a friend to both of them and prefer not to get in the middle of their issues. Don't choose sides unless you are willing to give up one of those friendships.
