After the feast of Epiphany from a religious standpoint.
The day after Christmas is you are sick of Christmas.
Or just leave them up so you don't have to deal with it next year!!!

January 6th is Three Kings Day. Some cultures celebrate the gift giving part of Christmas on this day as it is supposed to mark the day the three wisemen Zoroastrians presented their gifts to Jesus after following a "star". I've heard this was a good marker to take down the decorations, but I rather like them too. I never decorate because I'm not Christian and I usually just celebrate the solstice if anything, but as far as I'm concerned the people who go all out and cover their places in lights can leave them up all year long. It's not my power bill.

We usually take ours down in the first week of January. But if you like them that much, why not leave some of the lights up. I know people who leave lights up and on, both in the house and outside, all year long. It looks pretty.
Only 11 and 1/2 months till Christmas! Keep the spirit up all year!

In our family they go up the weekend before Christmas and down on New Years Day. YOu could decorate a tree or plant each month to brighten your place up. Cordinate with the holiday of the month - like red and pink in Feb. for Valentines Day or Green and White in March for St. Patricks Day. On the months there is no holiday like May- choose your favorite color combo. Superbowl you could use the colors of the team you want to win and decorate little footballs. Just have fun with it!

Mine are still up too!
I like the cheery, festive feeling to last a bit longer I guess.
But I am getting some cross looks from some of my neighbors.
I have everything down except my tree, so I feel it's ok for another week or so.
I love my Christmas ornaments ( I've collected them since I was a child) and when I puat them away it saddens me. But when I unpack them in December to decorate again it feels like old friends have come for a visit!
Keep your up as long as they make you happy!

I take mine down the day after Christmas but it's because I am in a small space. Usual timing is New Year's Day but you can leave them up as long as you want. Heck I've seen houses that keep their lights up all year long! lol

I take mine down the weekend after Christmas. Most take them down right after new years though. My building requires the be removed before January is over. You don't want to be those people who still have their lights on in April

Technically in the western Christian tradition, they are removed on the feast of the Epiphany, 6 January. But what the heck - leave them up! And sod the effect on greenhouse gas caused by your extra lights!

My tree is still up and burning brightly!! I love the festive look and since it is really a hard job to decorate, I feel I should enjoy it for much longer than one month. I think I'll leave mine up till at least Valentines Day.

There is no rule, but people will make comments about it if you keep them up very long. I think you should keep them up for as long as you like though. If you enjoy looking at them, then why not let them stay for a while? Just make sure you won't get bored with them. Don't kill the specialness.
