I really like the Loreal line...I have used everything under the Sun and always go back to Loreal. I use the new loose powder. Its kind of along the lines of the bare minerals products. Good Luck!

I would advise getting a primer. This is spread evenly on the face before one puts on foundation. Some really good ones to try are the ones by Mac, Laura Mercier and Modelco. Look for primers that have silicone in them as this fills in all the fine lines and helps prevent foundation from settling into them. I have heard, however, that it isn't advisable to use primer everyday, as the silicones will eventually cause clogged pores. I use primer only on special occasions as they help the makeup last longer. I also find that it gives my skin a flawless finish. I am currently using the primer by Modelco, which I believe is an Australian brand developed by an ex-model.
Hope that helps, good luck!

start with a face primer. laura mercier makes a great one. you only use a bead of it and the best way to explain it is spackle for the face. it fills in the pores and some of the fine lines. it also helps protect the skin and keeps the make up on longer.
if you want to smooth out the colour of your skin without having to cover up too much, try the laura mercier tinted moisturizer. it gives medium coverage. if you need more coverage, try the following: bobbi brown stick foundation, laura mercier oil free foundation, and chanel skin care products are agreat for women over 40. my mother is an incredible 30 something looking 55 year old. she swears by chanel. she uses the two in one powder compact and it looks great. for a powder, i love chantecaille coloured loose powder and laura mercier's translucent powder. they are so finally milled that they will not sit in the lines.
mac makes some really great and some really good products. however, in terms of foundation, i do believe that as you get older, you need to move towards a cosmetics skincare line that is better suited for older skin. laura mercier, presciptives, chanel, and shishedo are my recommendations. go to a highend department store ask lots of questions and ask for take home samples. you may have to provide your own containers but i know that nordstrom and saks will give them to you easily. if you live in canada, go to holt renfrew
hope that helps.

Stay with a medium coverage .Beyond coverage foundation by Avon. Their makeup line has 2x the retinol which helps with wrinkles. trust me I have them ( 32 years old) 71% of women noticed an improvement in firmness. 68% saw a lifted appearance and 60% noticed less sagging. They have foundation, lipstick ,you name it. Also you should be using an eye cream like ANEW it's for more mature skin like ours.Thermafirm face lifting cream , clinical and alternative are great! you can get them at my site or even just look around and read for yourself. It's worth looking at and I have great specials on products. It asks for contact info but you are more than welcome to put dummy info just to look and if you like you can add your real info. i'm 39 and not something is going to cover wrinkles. i've got ordinary that my smile strains are evidence i've got had a chuffed life so far! even with the undeniable fact that, the recent mineral powder foundations (bare escentuals, neutrogena has them now, too) do a sturdy pastime at nighttime out dermis tone devoid of accentuating wrinkles. a number of products (concealers and beginning place, something heavy) will purely settle into them. i hit upon bare escentuals style of glides over them. it relatively is sturdy stuff. something heavier purely makes you seem older. edit: my submit isn't an advert like the only above.
