Of course the most accurate is after you take the test. However, I personally knew about two weeks before my period should have arrived. I knew from spotting when the embryo had implanted. Some people just know.

I always used to want to take a hpt before I missed my period, but I would wait until after you missed your period. There is NO 100% way to find out you're pregnant before missing your period because home pregnancy tests usually don't turn up + unless conception was early in the month. I would wait because missing your period (being late, even by 1 day) is the biggest pregnancy sign and if you take a test after you missed your period, you're not wasting time and money and getting your hopes up for nothing. Good luck to you if you're trying, and best of luck with how it all goes.

I found out with this pregnancy, about four days before missed period with Clear Blue Easy Digital. There was no mistaking since it has the words "pregnant" or "not pregnant". The lined tests make it a little more confusing if your testing early since you might get a VERY faint line and feel as if your eyes could be tricking you. Much luck to you!

There are many ways to know that you're pregnant. The most commonly noticed way for most women is when their monthly period doesn't come or they begin to feel nausiated. There are some pregnancy tests that allow you to find out if you're pregnant within the first 48 hours of your missed period. Check your local retailer for details.
If you think you're pregnant, the best way to find out for sure is to buy a pregnancy test (they cost between $3 and $15 depending on the brand) and follow the directions to check if you're expecting. If the pregnancy test tells you you're pregnant, you should go to the doctor and have them retest you. Once the doctor tells you yay or nay, you'll know for sure.

You can get a pregnancy test to be virtually foolproof EVEN before you have missed a period, but you could still be pregnant and not enough hormone shows up in the teat so you have to repeat it a week later.
