For instance, in a typical communist country would stock be owned by the people divided up equally (by law?) or would the government own everything and ration out to the people? Because in the first instance, everything would still be privately owned, just privately owned equally...in the second instance everything would be owned by the govenrment and distributed equally. (two different things)

Ideally it is the people, in reality, it is usually the "vanguard party" or something. Communism was never practiced as it should have been and substituted the aristocracy of the past with a new aristocracy of bureaucrats and yes men.

Ask Trotsky, a great man who tried to keep communism in Russia on the right path.

It really depends if you are talking communism in it's purest sense or communism as it truly exists.

The concept of communism has everything owned by the government for the welfare of the people. A garbage man is equally as important to society as a doctor, and one does not 'have' more than the other.

In reality, true communism does not work. The level of sacrifice to become a doctor drives him to desire more rewards than if he were a cook at a fast food place. Also, man is flawed by nature to the point where corruption prevents true communism. Someone like Fidel Castro will not permit a street worker to live in the same standard of living as himself. He desires to surround himself in luxuries the common Cuban cannot afford. Corruption in politics, along with the totalitarian nature of communism makes it impossible for any benefits of true communism to flourish.

In communism there is no government.
Things belong to people
This is the theory, there has not been expereinced
communism yet.

In real socialism, a failed experience, almost
all companies belong to the government, but
the guys who runned the gouvernment, set themselves
big privileges close to the actual companies owners.
In fact when socialism collapsed, the sam guys now
own those companieswhich they got almost for free.

Cheers!

The key to a Communistic society is the word (commune). You own nothing , the community( Government) owns everything you have as well as your children.

The government owns everyting I believe. Are you aware of....we...the U.S. is so far in debt to the world bank, that if they came to your house and demanded the shirt off your back...you would by law...be required to give it to them?
Some people have no clue as to what is really going on in THIS country!
