Call Skully and Mulder, OR alternately, The Smoking Man. Is this case an X-file? Do you have any secret information???
There is a limit to how long they may seize something for evidence. Call the field office involved in your case and inquire.
I would suggest being civil but firm, and if baited to say, "I just want my computer."

When their investigation and case are done, or if they don't file charges, you may need an attorney of your own to get the computer back.
I know someone whose business equipment was taken. There was a case. he was found guilty, part of the unmentioned punishment was they kept everything electronic, his TV, computers, everything!
You may want to think about replacing it.
