How do you know this is true? Almost every family has secrets that have never been told. Most of the time the truth is the best way to go. There are secrets in my family that I feel like would be better told as long as the truth is told. Some people wouldn't tell the whole truth if their life depended on it.

If truth needs to be told, go ahead. Don't worry about the gossip, who care what other people say, plus people will talk about it for a while and then forget about it.

Depends on the magnitude of the secret you are keeping. If their spouse is cheating - tell them. If you saw them smoking and their spouse doesn't know - keep it to yourself. You need to tell us what the secret is to get a better answer.

many mean people who have a lot to hide don't like that and are very uncomfortable with that.
